AhnLab Strengthens Its Cloud Workload Security Platform With the Launch of New Container Security Products
- AhnLab CPP has launched ▲'Anti-malware for Container', an anti-malware solution optimized for Kubernetes environments. ▲The platform is also expanding support for host-based intrusion detection and prevention systems (Host IDS/IPS).
- Deployment and scanning methods optimized for Kubernetes environments, expansion of security coverage for serverless environments, a unified protection system that lets you consistently protect and manage different infrastructure environments from a single management server.

Key Terms 1) Kubernetes: An open-source platform for automatically deploying and managing containers 2) Container: A lightweight unit that contains everything needed to run an application 3) Cluster: A group of nodes where containers run 4) Pod: The smallest unit where one or more containers run together 5) Serverless Pod: A pod that Kubernetes runs by automatically allocating resources, without the need to manage nodes |
May 9, 2025 – As cloud-native environments become more common and security operations grow more complex, AhnLab has added a new security lineup to its cloud workload(*) security platform, AhnLab CPP (Cloud Protection Platform, see Reference), which supports Kubernetes clusters and serverless pod environments.
*Workload: In an IT system, this refers to one or more units of work that use resources such as CPU, memory, and network. Cloud workloads include all units of work that run on cloud-based infrastructure.
With this upgrade, AhnLab launched ▲'Anti-malware for Container', an anti-malware solution optimized for Kubernetes environments, and expanded support for ▲host-based intrusion detection and prevention systems (Host IDS/IPS). The company also improved deployment and scanning methods for Kubernetes environments and expanded security coverage for serverless environments.
As a result, AhnLab CPP provides an integrated protection system that lets you consistently protect and manage various infrastructure environments, such as containers and serverless, from a single management server. Customers can set up and manage container security in the same way as before, without any additional instructions, so they can maintain continuity in their security operations.
Chang Hee Kim, Director of AhnLab’s Product Management Department, said, "As the shift to container-based infrastructure and lighter execution environments accelerates, AhnLab CPP has further strengthened its security system to fit various cloud environments. We hope that, even as environments change, our customers can maintain consistency in their security operations and improve their ability to respond to threats."
[Improved runtime security with new Kubernetes anti-malware solution]
First, AhnLab has added 'Anti-malware for Container (AMC)', a Kubernetes-specific anti-malware solution that detects and responds to malware in containers in real time, to its CPP lineup.
With this, customers can not only perform pre-inspections at the container image stage, but also detect and respond to threats in running containers using methods optimized for Kubernetes environments. This allows them to further expand the scope of container security.
[Minimizing security blind spots by expanding host IPS to serverless environments]
AhnLab CPP has expanded its intrusion prevention feature (Host IPS), which was previously applied to host-based infrastructure, to serverless container environments. As a result, security features can be deployed even in environments where installing agents is difficult, making it possible to monitor security in serverless environments.
Customers can detect network-based threats even in serverless environments and manage security in the same way as with existing infrastructure, allowing them to build a consistent security system across all cloud workloads.
[Reference] AhnLab CPP (AhnLab Cloud Protection Platform)
AhnLab CPP is a cloud workload protection platform that secures server workloads in multi-cloud and hybrid environments. It provides features that help efficiently protect host and container workloads in cloud environments, and these include ▲whitelist-based 'application control' that allows only safe applications to run, ▲signature-based 'network attack detection and prevention (Host IPS),' ▲malware detection and response based on 'V3 Net,' which incorporates AhnLab's expertise in threat analysis and response, and ▲'AhnLab Container Security,' which provides container visibility and container image vulnerability scanning.
