Suk Kyoon Kang, AhnLab CEO
AhnLab (CEO Suk Kyoon Kang) announced the launch of AhnLab AI PLUS on the 16th. The unified brand brings together the company’s portfolio of more than 30 security products and services, threat intelligence accumulated over more than 30 years, and security operations expertise, with AI at its core. AhnLab also announced its transformation into an AI-native security platform company.
AI can now make decisions and take action autonomously, emerging as a new in cyberattacks. Attackers are using AI to rapidly identify vulnerabilities and attack paths, combine and execute various attack techniques, and increase the speed, scale, and automation of their attacks.
As enterprises expand their use of cloud services, SaaS, and AI, the number of assets that need protection and the overall attack surface continue to grow. The volume of events, logs, and alerts generated by security products is growing rapidly, but the resources available to analyze, investigate, and assess them remain limited. Organizations therefore need a new security operations model that can close the gap between attacks moving at AI speed and defenses operating at human speed.
▲ Security Operations Shift to an AI-Centric Model
AhnLab held a press conference to present its AI vision and announced its transformation into an AI-native security platform company. The company also presented AhnLab AI PLUS, its unified brand, along with its product and platform strategies, agentic AI technologies and results from real-world implementations, and mid- to long-term investment and growth plans.
AhnLab AI PLUS is a unified brand that represents AhnLab’s AI-native security strategy and direction. It also serves as a platform and architecture connecting the company’s technologies, products, and services. With AhnLab AI PLUS, AhnLab is moving from AI-powered Security, which applies AI to existing products and services to enhance detection, analysis, decision-making, and response capabilities, to AI-native Security, which puts AI at the center of how products, services, and security operations are designed. Through this transition, AhnLab plans to extend the use of AI beyond individual products to its entire security portfolio and business operations.
Building on AhnLab AI PLUS, AhnLab plans to implement an agentic AI-based architecture that integrates data from different products and domains to create a unified security context and enables multiple AI agents to collaborate throughout security operations. The company aims to establish an AI-native security operations framework in which AI identifies critical risks, prioritizes them, and helps security professionals make faster and more accurate decisions.
AhnLab CEO Suk Kyoon Kang outlined three priorities for AhnLab AI PLUS: reshaping the company’s business model around SaaS, implementing AI-native security by redesigning products, data, and operations around AI, and delivering greater value to customers while driving AhnLab’s growth.
▲ Reshaping the Business Model Around SaaS
AhnLab is reshaping its products and services around a SaaS model designed for continuous updates, flexible adoption, and scalability. Rather than requiring customers to deploy large-scale systems all at once, AhnLab plans to enable them to start with the products and capabilities they need and expand functionality and security coverage as their security operations mature and operational requirements change.
To support this transition, AhnLab will reorganize its products, services, and security capabilities around two growth platforms: AhnLab AI PLUS Endpoint and AhnLab AI PLUS SecOps.
AhnLab AI PLUS Endpoint is a SaaS-based protection platform that integrates EPP and EDR. It enables existing customers to transition smoothly to a SaaS environment while maintaining continuous protection and extends coverage beyond PCs to servers, virtual environments, containers, and mobile devices. AhnLab also plans to support hybrid deployments to accommodate customers’ regulatory requirements and operating environments.
AhnLab AI PLUS SecOps is an AI-powered security operations platform that brings together diverse security data and operational capabilities, with XDR, MDR, and AI SOC at its core. It correlates security signals from AhnLab products and third-party solutions across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments to analyze attack context and determine priorities, bringing prevention, detection, investigation, and response together in a unified security operations workflow.
AhnLab plans to expand the platform to include threat exposure management and attack surface management, while gradually adding AI capabilities to triage and investigate large volumes of security events and recommend response actions. This will allow organizations with limited security personnel and systems to use proven analytics and operational workflows, while organizations with dedicated security operations centers can reduce repetitive tasks and focus on critical risks and response decisions.
Through SaaS, AhnLab is expanding its product delivery model beyond one-time deployments and sales to include continuous service delivery. This approach will provide customers with ongoing access to the latest security capabilities and threat intelligence, while allowing them to start with the capabilities they need and expand their services and protection coverage as their operating environments and security mature.
AhnLab is reshaping its product-centric business model around SaaS and subscriptions, creating a continuous cycle of customer usage, renewals, and expansion. Through this model, the company aims to help customers advance their security operations while driving growth in recurring revenue.
▲ Implementing AI-Native Security by Redesigning Products, Data, and Operations Around AI
AhnLab plans to move beyond adding AI capabilities to individual security products and implement AI-native security by redesigning products, data, and security operations with AI at the core.
With AhnLab AI PLUS, the company will bring together data and capabilities across endpoints, networks, cloud environments, OT, threat intelligence, and security operations to create a unified security context.
Alerts, events, and telemetry generated across products and services will be processed through a common data model. AI will analyze correlations among individual signals, attack progression, and the scope of impact, consolidating signals from multiple products into a single security incident and determining response priorities. Instead of reviewing alerts from each product separately, security professionals will be able to use a unified incident view and context to identify critical risks and determine the investigation and response actions needed.
Using connected data and product capabilities, AhnLab will implement Agentic AI Security, in which AI assesses the security context, makes decisions, and takes the necessary actions. Agentic AI identifies the information required to achieve a given objective and uses appropriate tools to carry out a series of security tasks.
This approach brings prevention, detection, analysis, investigation, and response together in a single AI-native Security Lifecycle. Multiple AI agents take on different roles and use data and security capabilities across products and services to analyze threats, reconstruct attack sequences, assess risk, and recommend investigation and response actions.
AhnLab is implementing Agentic AI Security using more than 2.5 petabytes of security data, 13 security-specific AI models, and 60 security tools available to AI agents. The company processes more than 190 million security objects and over 50 billion tokens each month and has reduced processing time for certain AI SOC tasks by approximately 60%, from five minutes to two minutes.
AI decisions, actions, and data access are logged and reviewed, while major actions require user approval before execution. AhnLab applies the principle of Controlled Autonomy, giving AI a degree of autonomy while governing it through permissions, policies, auditing, and approvals. The company aims to establish an AI-native security operations framework that improves speed and efficiency while maintaining safety and reliability.
▲ Delivering Customer Value Through the ‘AI-Native × Platform × SaaS × Global’ Growth Engine
AhnLab views AI as both a means of strengthening its technological competitiveness and a key driver of change in its growth model. It plans to invest a total of KRW 100 billion in AI over the next three years. With this investment, AhnLab will redesign its products, services, and security operations around AI as it evolves into an AI-native security platform company.
AhnLab has strengthened its technological competitiveness by investing more than 30% of its annual revenue in R&D. The company will rapidly refocus these investments and capabilities on AI. Over the next three years, investments will focus on two areas: AI Infrastructure, to strengthen AI computing, data, and platform foundations; and AI R&D Capabilities, to advance AI technologies, develop specialist talent, and strengthen research capabilities. Through these investments, AhnLab plans to accelerate AI adoption not only across its products, services, and security operations, but also throughout development, quality assurance, and data engineering.
AhnLab will also use these investments to support a new growth engine built around AI-Native, Platform, SaaS, and Global. Its strategy is to strengthen the competitiveness of its AI-powered products and platforms and use that strength to generate recurring revenue through SaaS and subscription models and expand further into global markets. This approach aims to create greater value for customers while driving the company’s growth.
AhnLab will bring the technology, data, and security operations expertise it has built in the Korean market to global markets through APIs, cloud-based services, and a global partner ecosystem. The company also plans to accelerate its global growth through strategic M&A, joint research with AI technology companies and startups, business partnerships, and investments.
“At a time when AI is rewriting the rules of cybersecurity and reshaping the competitive landscape of the security industry, AhnLab AI PLUS marks AhnLab’s Next Chapter,” said AhnLab CEO Suk Kyoon Kang. “Through responsible innovation, we will help customers respond proactively and operate securely, while becoming the first AI-native security platform company they think of when facing security challenges in the AI era.”
AhnLab also set up an AI Security Experience Zone to demonstrate how its AI technologies work in practice. The zone features three stages: AI Prevention, which uses AI-powered penetration testing (Pentest) to proactively identify security vulnerabilities; AI SOC, which correlates multiple alerts based on their context to identify attack scenarios and support investigation and response; and AI Detection and Response, which uses AI sensors and agents to identify anomalous behavior.
Using video and live product interfaces, the experience zone demonstrated how AI consolidates alerts from multiple sources into a single security incident, prioritizes threats, and recommends investigation and response actions. Visitors could also try out related features on site to see firsthand how AhnLab’s AI-powered security technologies work.
