Between May 24th and 31st, AhnLab held 3 sessions of AhnLab ISF SQUARE 2023, a security strategy seminar for chief information security officers (CISOs) of corporate and financial sector. In this event, the participants shared realistic security improvement strategies that can be utilized in corporations and financial institutions, including the latest trends of security threats selected by analysis specialists and cases of building a comprehensive security system based on TDR (Threat Detection & Response). This post will briefly cover the major presentation topics and the event site of AhnLab ISF SQUARE 2023.
AhnLab ISF SQUARE, held offline for the first time in 4 years since the COVID-19 pandemic, is a tenant-tailored security strategy seminar held for companies in a variety of industries by AhnLab. Multiple times a year, AhnLab visits customers in various industries and provides tailored security strategies and solutions to suit the characteristics of each industry. This year’s AhnLab ISF SQUARE 2023 was held 3 times for each type of tenant: 24th for banks and credit card companies, 25th for insurance and securities companies, and 31st for corporations.

All 3 sessions of the event had many tenant CISOs participating. As cyber threats has become more advanced over the past few years, the importance of setting effective security strategies has also increased. As such, the CISOs responsible for the cyber security of their organizations were greatly interested in the latest security intelligence shared by AhnLab.
In this event, AhnLab provided CISO participants with realistic security enhancement strategies that can be applied to corporations and financial institutions such as ▲the latest security threat trends selected by breach incident analysts including ransomware, dark web, and abusing AI and ▲cases of building a comprehensive security-based TDR (Threat Detection & Response) system.

AhnLab's CEO Suk-Kyoon Kang began his speech by saying “While the threat of COVID-19 has been alleviated, the global uncertainty is expected to continue due to the economic crisis, war, and cyber security threats becoming more advanced.” He also added that “AhnLab will continue to provide its accumulated expertise to allow CISOs to be able to build and maintain the optimal security system for their organizations even under these uncertain circumstances.”

Senior analyst Myeongsu Lee, the second presenter, introduced participants to the latest security threat trends related to ransomware, the dark web, and malicious use of ChatGPTs with the topic titled Security Threat Trends: The Barrier Between Professionals and Non-Professionals Is Disappearing! “With the acceleration of technological developments, even non-professionals with malicious intents can launch attacks at semi-professional levels,” said the senior analyst, emphasizing that “to effectively defend against increasing security threats, defenders must also take an interest in the latest technologies and fully utilize them.”

Lastly, AhnLab’s director of the Solutions Consulting Center Sangeon Oh presented a comprehensive security response guide that can be applied by companies with the cases of implementing security systems based on the AhnLab TDR (Threat Detection & Response) framework in the TDR case session. Director Sangeon Oh said that “Security in recent years places importance on the integration and connection between solutions. AhnLab TDR Framework that can effectively detect and respond against threats based on such processes can be a realistic help in customers establishing a hacking defense system.”
Completing this year's AhnLab ISF SQUARE 2023, AhnLab reconfirmed the level of interest in security intelligence and its significance. In particular, with the activities of threat actors becoming more active and cases of hacking involving new technologies increasing, AhnLab is now putting a priority on allowing tenants to make optimal decisions regarding responding to the latest threats. AhnLab will continue to share professional intelligence through various platforms both online and offline, expecting such a strategy will allow more tenants to establish effective security strategies.
