AIRS Medical's 'SwiftMR' is a medical instrument software that utilizes deep learning to convert low-quality MR videos into high-quality ones, shortening the MRI scan time by up to 50%. Challenges

Since AIRS Medical was using Amazon Web Services (AWS), it needed to meet the security requirements to safely store medical data in an external environment. To minimize the impact on the business during the process, the company needed a security solution certified with CC (Common Criteria) without changing the previously established infrastructure. 

 

AIRS Medical needed a system that could smoothly operate a security solution to protect sensitive data such as medical information and prevent it from being leaked, defend against breaches such as web-based breaches, and immediately respond to security issues.

 

Solution 

With the next-generation MSP service 'AhnLab Cloud,' AhnLab consulted the company to examine the cloud compliance for medical and health care service companies and analyzed the current   status of AIRS Medical. Based on the analysis result, AhnLab sought to set the access control and granting permission process that fitted the structure and work status of the client company.

 

Furthermore, AhnLab additionally configured security services of AWS such as firewall management service 'AWS Firewall Manager' and advanced threat detection service 'Amazon GuardDuty' to increase the efficiency of internal/external threat responses. AhnLab also enhanced the security settings of AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) that supports the distribution, adjustment, and automated management of Kubernetes-based applications.

 

AhnLab also configured redundancy for the CC-certified web application firewall (WAF) solution and linked it with AhnLab's managed security service which is the culmination of AhnLab's capabilities and expertise to enhance the overall security of the operating AWS cloud environment.
